Construction Site Runoff

Soil and Erosion Control are the basis for legislation (Ordinance 1-2013) which oversees the implementation, maintenance and inspection of the erosion control measures used on construction sites. Projects larger than one acre are required to obtain NPDES permits from Ohio Epa as well as the local community. Preventing the loss of dirt and debris from construction sites can reduce the amount of sediments that are deposited into catch basins as well as waterways.

A Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan will also be required by Ohio EPA as well as a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan as outlined in the Soil and Erosion Control ordinance shall be submitted to the Village. Information on OEPA requirements can be found here.
